Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup sour milk

Directions

    Cream the sugar and shortening. Add the egg, beat well. Sift the dry ingredients, add alternately with the sour milk. Add the raisins. Pour into a greased and floured 8" x 8" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30–40 minutes.
