Apple Jacks Bully Busters
A snack candy recipe from Kellogg's Sweet Treats (by Kay Kellogg), Kellogg Company.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 6 1/2-ounce package Kellogg's Apple Jacks
- 1 cup peanuts
Directions

Combine sugar, syrup, salt and butter in a 3-quart saucepan. Cook over moderate heat, stirring frequently, only until the mixture bubbles. Remove from heat; add Apple Jacks and peanuts and stir until well-coated.

Spread the mixture on a buttered cookie sheet or waxed paper. Separate into bite-sized pieces with two forks or buttered fingers. To store, keep in a tightly covered container.

Yield: about 6 cups.

Note: If desired, the warm mixture may be pressed evenly in a buttered 13 x 9-inch pan. Cut into 2 x 1-inch bars. Yield: 48 bars.
