Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar (~200 g)
- 1/2 cup butter (~115 g)
- 1 egg (~50 g)
- 1 cup flour (~125 g)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda (scant) (~4.8 g)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (~1.2 g)
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg (~2.5 g)
- 1/2 cup nuts (~60 g)
- 3 apples, chopped fine (~540 g)
- Sauce: 1/2 cup brown sugar (~105 g)
- 1/2 cup white sugar (~100 g)
- 1/2 cup butter (~115 g)
- 1/2 cup cream (~120 g)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (~4.2 g)

Cream the butter, sugar, and egg.

Add the remaining ingredients and bake in a 7 1/2 x 11 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch pan at 325°F for 50 minutes.

Serve warm with the following sauce. Sauce: mix the brown sugar, white sugar, butter, cream and vanilla together and cook in the top of a double boiler until creamy.
