Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 square melted unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tsp. melted butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup boiling water

Directions

Sift the dry ingredients together. Mix the dry ingredients with the milk, butter and vanilla. Add the chocolate last, beating until smooth. Pour into a well-buttered 8 or 9 inch square pan and cover with the topping: mix the white sugar, cocoa and brown sugar and stir until well blended, sprinkle over the raw batter, and add 1 cup boiling water. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Top with ice cream or whipped topping.
